The End of an Era

When Curly, Curly's Twin, and the two Tall Skinny Girls came to steal me away from my first home (long story for another day), the first place I went was the "Rug Room." The above picture isn't the first time I was there, but it was a long time ago. I've spent alot of time outside of Hopkins Rug Service and I'm very sorry to see it close; it was always full of such wonderful smells! It was legendary for all of the dogs in DuPont City. Just walking by was intoxicating. My predecessor, Snowball, was a staple around there as well. Most customers enjoyed having her greet them at their cars, but a few were a little afraid of her. That I don't understand - I hear she was a great big lovable ball of fur. Apparently, I'm much better behaved than she was (yet another story for another day).

In honor of the closing of this landmark institution on Dec. 31, 2008, I have created this little video. I hope you enjoy.

I'm really going to miss that place.

So, Where Did the Infant Go?

Grandma came to the house on Tuesday to play with me (and watch The Infant). When she left on Tuesday evening, she took The Infant with her and neither of them has returned since. I'm not quite sure what to make of it. It is a lot quieter around here without The Infant, but I'm not sure that I like the quiet. Granted, I can sleep in the room with Curly and The Guy without having to go into The Infant's room, but really I need something to keep me busy. Since she's not here, I thought it would be okay to bark at the Paper Lady at 3:00am, but apparently that's frowned upon.

And, come to think of it, Curly and The Guy haven't been coming home until late and they smell like The Infant. I wonder if this is a permanent arrangement or if it's only temporary. I'll bet it has something to do with the cold temperatures. I'll let you know when she returns.

Blog Hijacking

Hey everyone. The Infant here. Chillin' in the Bumbo with GloWorm. Mom is home on a snow day, so I didn't go to Grandma's house today. I thought I'd hijack Bull's blog for a few minutes and let everyone know what's been going on.

First, I didn't really appreciate the New Year's Day picture that Bull posted. How embarrassing. To be seen in only a diaper. And posed in such a cliche manner. What was I thinking? I guess I had just a little too much formula the night before at the party at Aunt Caroline's new house. It was BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle).

And no, I don't smell like turkey (or any other dog treat, for that matter), but Mom does think I smell like raisins sometimes.

I went to the doctor yesterday, had some shots (won't be catching polio anytime soon. What a relief.), and had the official 2 month (and 8 day) weigh-in. I whopping 11 pounds 6 ounces and 24.25 inches. I'm over two feet tall! Almost as tall as my Grandma. That is in the 75th percentile for weight. You might think that means I'm chubby, but you would be wrong! I'm in the 90th percentile for height. Where I get that, we'll never know.

I've gotta go now. I'm going to act like I'm going to sleep so Mom will start doing something and then I'm going to start crying so she'll come get me.

Happy New Year to all

So, 2008 has come and (almost) gone. I guess it was a pretty good year. The Infant made her appearance and whether or not this was good for me remains to be seen. Everyone else is completely in love with her. Curly and The Guy can't get enough of her. The Voice and all the other Humans are always fighting over who gets to hold her. I guess she is pretty interesting (and she does smell completely different from the other Humans). Speaking of The Voice, we need to keep him in our prayers
(and yes, dogs pray, too. Remember, all dogs go to heaven).

2008 also gave me cousin Morgan. If she would calm down a little, we could be friends, but for now she's a little too much for me to handle. I'm still not sure about how I feel about her spending the night - especially with The Infant here now. I finally decided that I need to sleep in the hallway room so that I can keep an eye on both bedrooms.

I almost forgot to mention Christmas. I had a nice time - got several treats, but the night before was a little stressful. Curly's Twin (without the curls) and Morgan spent the night. Apparently Morgan hasn't learned the etiquette for spending the night at someone else's house. She barked every two hours and that really annoyed Curly's Twin since she was sleeping on the couch. I had to get out of bed and make sure everything was okay. It would have bothered me more, but I did get a treat each time.

Happy New Year!

For your enjoyment...

I'm not normally into these photo montages on YouTube but this one is very good. Also, this is an amazing version of O Holy Night - probably my favorite version - by Selah. Keep checking back. I'll post more pictures of Cora soon since she doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Now that my nails are clipped...

...I can blog again. You'd be surprised to learn how difficult it is to type with long nails. I had to go see that tall, skinny guy with red hair again (you remember - the one that cut off part of my ear). Well, as soon as I got home, I got started on this
